An eight-month pregnant health worker has been murdered by armed bandits the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway, after opening fire on a commercial vehicle travelling to Kaduna.

She was shot at a place called Zankoro before Unguwar Yako on Sunday.

The deceased’s cousin Aliyu Mahmud confirmed the incident to newsmen via phone and  identified her as Aisha Yusuf.

” She was eight months pregnant but very hardworking and dedicated to her work at the PHC where she works in Birnin Gwari. Most of the people in this community liked her a lot because of her commitment to work even though she is a volunteer worker,” he said.
